Meet Macee Binns – a fireball and a true jack-of-all-trades in the entertainment industry. Originally hailing from the heart of Little Rock, Arkansas, Macee embarked on her journey to Los Angeles in 2010 in order to pursue a career in entertainment media and further her education in the creative arts. Since relocating to Hollywood, Macee has become known for her work as an award-winning Playwright, Screenwriter, Journalist, and Casting Director with an extensive background of accomplishments in film, television, stage productions, commercials, print, and viral content.

During her former acting days, Macee could be seen lighting up the big screen in cult classics like FDR: American Badass!, American Ultra, and she was best known for playing News Reporter Sandy Killings in the feature film Miles Away. Macee also graced the small screen in several popular TV shows, including 2 Broke Girls, Men of a Certain Age, The Doctors, and Luck. She was cast in a sketch with actor Andy Samberg on the television show Comedy Bang! Bang! and she left an indelible mark in the realm of unexplained mysteries when she was featured in multiple episodes of Hangar 1: The UFO Files, now streaming in the Top 10 on Netflix and on The History Channel.

In the world of casting, Macee’s eye for talent and her ability to connect with people on a raw, authentic level has made her a sought-after Casting Director at Tiffany Company Casting for the past 8 years, where she has brought more than 300 commercials, films, reality television shows, documentaries, music videos, game shows, and print campaigns to life for top clients such as Nike, Facebook, Google, H&M, Starbucks, Disney, Walmart, Apple, and Verizon. Macee has won 3 Cannes Lion Grand Prix advertising awards for her work on the Mastercard “True Name” Campaign, the Microsoft Xbox “We All Win” Super Bowl Campaign, and the Ad Council “Generation Lockdown” Campaign with Tiffany Company Casting. She also worked on the Ad Council “Love Has No Labels” Campaign at TCC, which received a 2016 Emmy Award for Outstanding Commercial. Thanks to all of her casting accolades, Macee was recently invited to become a member of the Commercial Casting Directors Association of Los Angeles, where she is recognized among some of the most elite Casting Directors in the industry. Macee’s written word is as powerful as her on-screen accomplishments and the area where her true passion shines. She is known as an accomplished playwright, screenwriter, and Journalist who has WON countless awards for her plays, screenplays, articles, and short stories. Her crowning achievement, the female-led romantic dramedy, Hand Twins, awed judges when it WON awards for Best Feature Screenplay at the prestigious 2022 California Women’s Film Festival, the 2022 First Women Film Festival, and the 2022 Venus Community Awards, out of hundreds of entries submitted from around the world. It didn’t stop there– the unproduced feature-length script also placed as a Semi-Finalist at the 2021 Los Angeles International Screenplay Awards, the 2021 Scriptation Showcase Script Competition, and the 2022 Filmmatic Drama Screenplay Awards. Notably, the award-winning script continued to make waves when it received Quarter Finalist Titles at the acclaimed 2022 Richmond International Film Festival and the 2022 Scriptapalooza Screenplay Competition. In August of 2022, Hand Twins, proceeded to secure its spot as a Preliminary Finalist at the 2022 Creative World Awards, and it continued to gain recognition with those in the industry, when the screenplay became one of the select few scripts to be passed on to the Semi-Finals at the 2022 ScreenCraft Film Fund Feature Competition with Mark Duplass. Additionally, Hand Twins received Official Selection Nominations for Best Feature Film Script at the 2021 Miami Indie Film Awards, the 2021 Toronto Film and Script Awards in association with Toronto Film Magazine, the 2022 Andromeda Film Festival, the 2022 LA Indies Film Festival, the 2023 Cannes Film Awards, and the 2022 Toronto International Women Film Festival. Beyond her success with Hand Twins, Macee Binns is a celebrated and published playwright whose works have graced the stages of regional and community theaters across the U.S. In 2014, her gift for storytelling was honored when Macee’s short film script, Row 28, was awarded a Finalist Title at the esteemed Hollywood Screenplay Contest. Subsequently, the stage play adaptation of Row 28 was published by JAC Publishing & Promotions and is currently sold on Amazon and Kindle eBooks, making it accessible to theater enthusiasts worldwide. Macee’s writing talent extended into short form publications, when two original monologues from her play Stone Cold Sober were selected by Smith and Kraus Publishers for print in their annual anthology book series, The Best Women's Stage Monologues of 2017. You can find this popular theatrical series on the shelves of Barnes & Noble, Target, and most major book retailers worldwide. In 2018, Heuer Publishing went on to acquire Macee's play Candi With An I and prominently featured the comedic one-act in their renowned Catalog For The Performing Arts. In 2019, Macee's creative writing talents continued to excel with the publication of her play, Now Boarding, by Off The Wall Plays and her collection of monologues Static, Stuffed Panda, and Undressed. During her time in Hollywood, Macee’s love of words led to her working as a Content Writer for the popular news media sites TheRichest, Ranker, and TopBuzz, where several of her articles went viral and amassed over 3 million views online. Her flair for journalism was established during her 2-year stint working as a Reporter for The Canyon News in Los Angeles. In 2018, Dancing Iguana Productions recognized Macee’s storytelling abilities and brought her onboard their team as a Segment Writer, Producer, and occasional Co-host of the hit podcast, Left Unsupervised, available on iTunes, Stitcher, Google Play, TuneIn, and Spotify. In 2021, Macee was invited to serve on the Arkansas Arts Council, putting her expertise to work as a Grant Reviewer and Panel Member, supporting performing arts organizations in her home state. Additionally, Macee’s commitment to nurturing up-and-coming writers led to her being asked to serve as a Screenplay Contest Judge at the 2023 SYS's Six-Figure Film Festival and Screenplay Contest, where she scored feature screenplays for the competition and participated on an Industry Panel, sharing her aptitude in the field of screenwriting.
